Tahereh K. Barnes graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a double major in economics and political science in 1988. Thereafter, she went on to attend Southwestern University School of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Barnes clerked for a Los Angeles litigation firm. She received her Juris Doctorate degree in the fall of 1990, a semester ahead of her class.
Ms. Barnes joined PGBR LLP in early 1991, a year after the firm’s inception. She rapidly developed her litigation skills, co-chairing her first trial three months later. As an associate, Ms. Barnes handled Workers’ Compensation cases for a wide variety of self-insured clients as well as adjusting and insurance companies. Additionally, Ms.Barnes has handled a wide range of casualty defense litigation matters, including product and premises liability, environmental and toxic tort and employment related matters, including the defense of wrongful termination, harassment and discrimination cases.
Ms. Barnes became a partner on January 1, 1998. As a partner, she continues to handle a broad range of litigation matters and is also responsible for heading the Workers’ Compensation and employment law departments.
