Maya Fawcett is Of Counsel with the firm and assisted with opening the firm’s San Diego office. Ms. Fawcett obtained her J.D. from UCLA in 2012. She graduated summa cum laude from The George Washington University in 2008 with a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

In addition to being admitted to all the state courts of California, Ms. Fawcett practices before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central, and Northern Districts of California.

Ms. Fawcett joined the firm after 8 years working at another San Diego-based insurance defense firm. Her practice focuses on the defense of personal injury actions and products liability, as well as medical malpractice and other professional negligence and insurance defense matters. In this capacity, Ms. Fawcett represents a wide variety of healthcare providers and business owners across a diverse range of industries.

Ms. Fawcett has successfully resolved numerous cases involving multi-million-dollar claims, catastrophic injuries, alleged traumatic brain injury, and complex liability disputes. She is involved in the local and national legal community and counsels clients and insurance carriers on a variety of topics including California fair claims handling practices; damages available under California law; and case law updates.

Ms. Fawcett is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. She enjoys gardening, cooking, cycling, hiking, traveling, and spending time at the beach with her husband and golden retriever rescue dog.
